Embracing My Passion at 49: My Journey Back to University to Study Psychology
I want to share my inspiring journey of rediscovering my passion and returning to university at the age of 49 to study psychology. As a life coach and therapist, my life had been full of rewarding moments and beautiful memories. Yet, I felt a deep yearning for something more, something that would allow me to guide and support others in a profoundly meaningful way.
My path towards psychology wasn't a sudden epiphany but rather a slow realization that grew within me over the years. I've always been the one my friends, colleagues and family turned to for advice, a listening ear, and emotional support. I found immense fulfillment in helping others navigate life's challenges and fostering their personal growth. It was as if my innate ability to empathize and understand the complexities of the human mind had always been a part of me, waiting to be fully acknowledged.
My defining moment came during reading a book a few months ago, "The Choice" written by Edith Eva Eger. It resonated with me deeply. I realized that psychology was my calling, and I wanted to be a part of the process of guiding individuals towards a better, more fulfilling life.
So, with determination and unwavering commitment, I decided to return to university to study psychology. I knew that my life experiences, wisdom, and natural empathy were unique assets that I could bring to my new field of study.
My unique blend of life experience and academic knowledge allowed me to offer a special kind of support as a therapist and life coach.
I'm building my practice that's rooted in the belief that it's never too late to pursue your true passion and make a real difference in the lives of others.
My journey is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and a reminder that our true passions may reveal themselves at any stage in life. I'm here to tell you that it is never too late to do what you love. My story is meant to inspire and encourage anyone who has ever wondered if they should pursue their dreams, no matter their age or circumstances. The answer is clear: it is never too late to do what you love.
